 Australia tour of India 2019, India vs Australia 5th ODI match was played on wed 13th Mar in Feroz Shah Kotla, Delhi. Australia won the toss and elected to bat first. There are 2 changes in the Indian squad, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Shami came in place of KL Rahul and Y Chahal.

Australian opener gave a good start to the team as they set a opening partnership of 76 runs in 14.3 overs.  But Aron Finch got out after scoring 27 runs of 43 balls with 4 fours. Another partnership between Khawaja and Handscomb troubled India where they scored of 99 runs. And Khawaja departed after scoring 2nd ODI century of his career and in the series. He scored 100 runs of 106 balls with 10 fours and 2 sixes.

Maxwell couldn't do much as he scored  1 run of 3 balls whereas Stoinis scored 20 runs of 27 balls. Turner scored 20 of 20 balls with 2 and Alex Carey got to go on 3 runs of 9 balls. But Richardson's 29 runs of 21 balls and Pat Cummins's 15 runs of 8 balls helped Australia to set a score of 272-9 in 50 overs.

Bhuvneshwar picked 3 wickets, Shami and Jadeja picked 2 wickets each and Kuldeep got one wicket

India's Inning in 5th ODI match

Rohit started the chase with Dhawan but Dhawan couldn't continue his form gained in last match. And departed on 12 runs of 15 balls and Kohli couldn't score more than 20 runs of 22 balls in his home ground. Pant disappointed once again with his 16 runs of 16 balls.

Whereas Vijay Shankar failed to take 16 runs of 21 balls ahead. And Rohit's slow but effective inning of 56 runs off 89 balls with 4 fours comes to an end. Jadeja departed on a duck but Kedar Jadhav and Bhuvneshwar tried to take the team close to the score. And built an effective partnership of 91 runs for 7th wickets  where Bhuvneshwar scored 46 of 54 balls. With 3 fours and 2 sixes and Kedar scored 44 runs of 57 balls with 4 fours and a six. Shami scored 3 runs of 7 balls, Kuldeep 8 runs of 12 balls and Bumrah 1 runs of 4 balls. As a result of which India scored 237-10 in 50 overs and falls short of 35 runs to win the match along with the series.

Zampa picked 3 wickets, Richardson, Cummins, and Stoinis picked 2 wickets each and lyon got one wicket. Usman Khawaja was the Player of Match as well as Player of the Series.
