The World Test Championship is starting on August 1 from the first match of Ashes. It will begin with the first test between Australia and England. This championship will last till June 2021. During this time 144 Tests matches will be played in 22 months. The final match is to be played between the two top teams in 2021 in Lords. ICC has started the championship to make Test cricket interesting. For this,ICC also started the Day-Night Test. The Indian team will play against the 6 countries in the championship. They will not play against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The ICC came with the idea of the World Test championship in 2009. It was approved in 2010. The ICC wanted to launch it in 2013, but then it was postponed. It was planned to start in 2017, but the dates were extended again.
Teams competing within World Test Championship
Top-9 teams out of 12 Test-playing countries can play in the world test championship. Ireland and Afghanistan did not get the chance to play in the tournament. The Zimbabwe Cricket, on the other hand, has been banned. All teams will play 6 Series in the World Championship. These three series will be on domestic and three foreign lands. At least two and at most 5 Tests can be played in a series. After the end of the league round, the final will be played on England ground in June 2021.

Team India will play 18 matches in the championship where 10 matches will be against South Africa, Bangladesh, England. And the rest 8 matches will be against West Indies, New Zealand and Australia.
New Zealand Team will play 14 matches where 7 matches will be against India, West Indies, and Pakistan. 7 matches will be against Sri Lanka, Australia, Bangladesh.
South Africa Team will play 16 matches where 9 matches will be against England, Sri Lanka, and Australia. 7 of the matches will be against India, West Indies, Pakistan.
England Team will play 22 matches where 11 of the matches will be against Australia, West Indies, Pakistan. Remaining 11 matches will be against (South Africa, Sri Lanka, India.
Australian Team will play 19 matches where 9 matches will be against Pakistan, New Zealand, India. And 10 matches will be against England, Bangladesh, South Africa.
Sri Lanka, Pakistan West Indies and Bangladesh
Sri Lanka Team will play 13 matches where 7 matches will be against (New Zealand, England, and Bangladesh). 6 matches will be against Pakistan, South Africa and West Indies.
Pakistan Team will play 13 matches where 6 matches will be against (Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and South Africa. And 7 matches will be against Australia, New Zealand, and England.
West Indies Team will play 14 matches where 6 matches will be against India, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. And 9 matches will be against England, New Zealand, and Bangladesh
Bangladesh Team will play 15 matches where 7 matches will be against Australia, New Zealand, and West Indies 7 of the matches will be against India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.
Matches not to be Played Against in WTC
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are the teams against whom India has no matches to play.
New Zealand have no matches against England and South Africa
Bangladesh, New Zealand are the teams against whom South Africa has no match to play
England have no match to play against Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Sri Lanka, and West Indies are the teams against whom no matches will be played by Australia.
India and Australia have no match to play against Sri Lanka.
Pakistan has no match to play against West Indies and India.
Australia, Pakistan are the teams against whom no matches will be played by West Indies.
England, Africa are the teams against whom Bangladesh has no match to play.
How points will be distrubuted?
All series will carry 120 points. In two years, a team can get as much as 720 points. There will be 24 points for a match in the five-Test match series. In the series of four Test matches, 30 points will be allocated in one match, 40 points for one match in the three-Test series and 60 points in a series of two Test matches will be given.

What if the final match ends up with a draw?
If the final match ens with draw or tie, during the league round the top team in the points table will be declared the winner. In this way, the first-place team would like to draw or tie the match on any cause. At the same time, the second-place team must win in every situation to win the World Test Championship.
