Cricket Australia's chairman has also made it clear that the tournament might not be possible. In such a situation, the BCCI believes that the postponement of the ICC may affect the IPL preparations.
A BCCI official, on the condition of not giving his name, explained why the ICC chairman is creating confusion every time. When the host country is refusing to host the event, why should a month be announced for it. He said that if a decision is taken on this soon, it will help the member states to make other plans.
The board official said that if the ICC announces the postponement of the tournament this month, then players of the country, who are not part of the IPL, can plan a bilateral series. The BCCI's IPL operations team can begin preparations for the possible hosts. It will also include Sri Lanka followed by Premdasa, Pallekal and Hambantota Plains. Sri Lanka is seen as a less expensive host than the UAE.
