The very 1st match World Cup 2019 was played between the teams who never before lift the world cup in the format. The match was played on 30th May 2019 in Kennington Oval, London. South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first.

England played a brilliant inning and set a total of 312-8 in 50 overs. 4 of the batsman Joe Root, Jason Roy, Eoin Morgan, and Ben Stokes scored a half-century. And helped the team to score that huge although they are just short of 20 runs which could trouble them. South Africa bowled hard at the end but couldn't restrict England below 300. As  Ben Stokes played a briliant inning of 89 runs off 79 balls with 9 fours.

Lungi Ngidi picked 3 wickets conceding 66 runs in 10 overs, Imran Tahir and Rabada got 2 wickets each.

2nd Inning of England vs South Africa 


Quinton de Kock showed a brilliant batting form and batted brilliantly at one end. But South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals as a result of which Proteas faced huge defeat in their first match. Despite de Kock's 68 runs (6 fours, 2 sixes) of 74 balls and Van der Dussen's 50 runs of 61 balls. Proteas were wrapped up on 207/10 in 39.5 overs.

Jofra Archer done the job for England and took 3 important wickets conceding just 27 runs off 7 overs. Whereas Ben Stokes and Plunkett got 2 wickets each, Moen Ali and Adil Rashid got 1 wicket each.

Ben Stokes the key player of England got the player of the match award for his all-round performance in all three departments.
