Qualifier 1 of VIVO IPL Season 12 CSK vs MI in Chennai

 The Qualifier 1 of VIVO IPL Season 12 was played between the two most successful teams of IPL. On 7th May 2019 in MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Both the teams have won the title 3 times. Chennai won the toss and elected to bat first.

  Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson who couldn't give a good start to the team. As CSK lost their first wicket in the 3rd overs bowled by Rahul Chahar. Faf du Plessis got out scoring just 6 runs of 11 balls. Raina in the very next over gave his wicket to Jayant Yadav. But Murali Vijay tried to score runs against the quality spinners.

 In the last ball of the powerplay Krunal Pandya departed Shane Watson on 10 runs (2 fours) of 13 balls.  CSK was in trouble as they were able to score 32-3 in the powerplay. Even after the powerplay, the bowlers didn't allow any batsman to score easy runs which forced the Vijay to go huge. But it resulted the wicket of Vijay in the 13th over bowled by Rahul Chahar. He departed Murali Vijay on 26 runs off 26 balls.

MS Dhoni The X Factor for CSK in Season 12

Once again it's Dhoni who came into the crease and built a partnership of 67 runs in 7.5 balls with Rayudu. Rayudu's 42 runs of 37 balls and his 37 runs of 29 balls helped the team to set a competitive total of 132-4 in 20 overs.

Rahul Chahar bowled brilliantly and picked 3 wickets conceding only 14 runs in 4 overs, Jayant Yadav and Krunal Pandya got 1 wicket each.

MI'S Inning in Qualifier 1 of IPL Season 12, CSK vs MI in Chennai

The start for MI was not that good as they lost the wickets of both the openers early in the inning. And as a result of which they scored 44-2 runs in the powerplay. Then a partnership 80 runs in 10.3 overs between Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan took the match away from CSK.

Imran Tahir interrupted by departing Ishan on 28 runs off 31 balls and Krunal Pandya on a duck. But Suryakumar Yadav helped the team to win the match with his 71* runs (10 fours, 3 sixes) of 52 balls. MI achieved the target 132-4 in 18.3 overs and qualifies for the final quite comfortably.

Tahir picked 2 wickets,whereas Deepak Chahar and Harbhajan Singh got 1 wicket each.
