The New Zealand bowlers exploited the condition well and didn't give any room to the Lankan batsman to settle down. And despite the inning played by  Karunaratne where he scored 52 runs of 84 balls with only 4 fours. As a result of which Sri Lanka was wrapped up on 136/10 in 29.2 overs.

Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson bowled beautifully to pick 3 wickets each. And rest of the work done by Trent Boult, de Grandhome Neesham and Santner where they picked 3 wickets each.

The New Zealand openers batted sensibly and chased the target quite comfortably without losing any wicket. And scored 137/0 in 16.1 overs where Martin Guptil scored 73 runs (8 fours, 2 sixes) of just 51 balls. Along with Colin Munro scored 58 runs (6 fours, 1 six) of 47 balls.

 Matt Henry was selected as Player of the match as he bowled brilliantly. And picked 3 wickets conceding only 29 runs in his 7 overs in 3rd Match World Cup 2019, New Zealand vs Sri Lanka.

   The start of the World Cup 2019 was not so good as the matches played were ended up one-sidedly. And may affect the popularity of the tournament...
