The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final 2, Australia vs England was played on 11th July in Birmingham where the defending champion Australia won the toss and elected to bat first and the decision to bat doesn't work for the team as they 3 quick wickets and Warner who was the highest run-getter for the team could score only 9 runs than a partnership between Steven Smith and Alex Carey who batted even after he got injured in the short ball of Jofra Archer. They built a partnership of 103 runs and Alex got out after scoring 46 runs and once again the batting collapsed in the match and as a result of which Australia was wrapped out on 223 runs in 49 overs despite a brilliant Inning played by Steven Smith where he scored 85 runs (6 fours) of 119 balls.
