MSK Prasad officially announced the India"s squad for Test Series against South Africa on 12th Sept 2019 after the meeting held in between BCCI officials.

Virat Kohli (c), Rohit Sharma, Mayank Agarwal, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Rishab Pant(wk), W Saha(wk), R Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, M Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma (Umesh Yadav replacing Jasprit Bumrah).

On 24th of September 2019 caused a huge set back for team India as Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out from the Test series against South Africa. And the reason behind this is the minor lower back stretch, which may affect the result of the series. Umesh Yadav was named as his replacement in the series.
