The 86th edition of the biggest first-class cricket in the world, Ranji Trophy 2019-20 has started on the 9th of Dec 2019. And there are 38 teams competing with each other for the title and Chandigarh is the latest entrant this year. Team Vidharbha, the 2 times defending Champion has the golden opportunity to join the elite group. By winning 3 consecutive Ranji titles record, only Bombay in 1960 the legendary team has done that.

But it seems quite difficult as the alongside there is the team Karnataka who has won both the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Sayed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2019. Ranji Trophy currently taking place in India and will be played in between Dec 2019 to Mar 2020. BCCI the administrator has considered the use of DRS in the knockout section of the tournament. But allowed only the use of a "limited DRS" system, which does not include Hawk-Eye and Ultra Edge.

There are 4 Groups containing 9 teams in each Group A and Group B. And only 5 of them will qualify from the pool of 18 and it can also be from the same Group as well. Group C has 10 Teams and the top 2 teams will qualify for the knockout. And the last but not the least, the Plate Group containing 10 Teams and only one of them will be qualifying. And the players like Abhimanyu Iswaran, and Priyank Panchal, the 2 player heaping runs in the domestic circuit.

Ranji Trophy 2019-20 Schedule





The Ranji Trophy 2019-20 Schedule starts with Round-robin consisting of 9 rounds for 38 teams starting from 9th Dec 2019 to 19th of Feb 2020. Then the knockout will start among 8 the teams qualified after the Round-Robin. The 8 teams will play the knockout or the quarter-final from 20th Feb to 28th Feb. The semi-finals will start from 29th Feb to 1 Mar. And the most awaited finale in the domestic circuit will be played from 9th Mar to 12th Mar 2020.
