Apart from this, he has said that any updates in its investigation should be given to them every two weeks. After this, Sports Secretary K Ruwanchandra, on the orders of the Sports Minister, filed a complaint related to the investigation unit of the Ministry.
Earlier, Mahindananda Aluthgamage alleged that his team had sold the match to India. Following his allegation, former captain Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene had demanded evidence denying it. Kumar Sangakkara was the captain of the Sri Lanka team in the 2011 ODI World Cup final.
The former Sports Minister had said in an interview that the final match between India and Sri Lanka was fixed. He said that I tell you that we had sold the 2011 World Cup. I said the same thing when I was the Sports Minister and I still stand by this point.

Mahindananda had said that we should have won that match and I am saying with full responsibility that I felt that that match was fixed. I am also ready to debate this matter. In this case, former team captain Kumar Sangakkara tweeted that he needs to take his evidence to the ICC Anti-Corruption and Security Unit so that the matter can be fully investigated.

On the other hand, former batsman Mahela Jayawardene, who scored a century for Sri Lanka in that final match, said that these allegations are complete nonsense and baseless. He tweeted, asking if elections are going to be held which has started a new circus. I liked it … what are the name and proof?
