Indian cricketer was compared with Wasim Akram

Indian batsman Suresh Raina praised former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan during a show. He told how this Indian Cricketer was compared to Wasim Akram, former fast bowler of Pakistan cricket team. Raina said that it was because Irfan's bowling style and his look matched Akram to a great extent. Raina told me that by the time my team entered India, Irfan Pathan had become a big name.

Suresh Raina said in the Star Sports show Cricket Connected that everyone compared him to Wasim Akram. He looked like a brand ambassador of shampoos because of his long and curly hair.

When I joined Team India in the year 2005, he had become a very popular cricketer. Irfan Pathan was selected in the Indian team to tour Australia at the age of just 19. At that time, he impressed everyone with his swing and excellent bowling. In 2004, Irfan was selected for the Pakistani tour. He made headlines by taking six wickets in the Multan Test there.

Javed Miandad made a controversial remark after watching Irfan Pathan's performance in the Multan Test. He had said that fast bowlers like Irfan get into the streets of Pakistan. Irrfan recalled the incident saying that his father did not like this comment. He said that I remember Miandad's comment in which he said that bowlers like Pathan can be found in every street of Pakistan. My father did not like it.

In 2006, Irfan Pathan got the chance to visit Pakistan once again. In this matter, he took a second hat-trick in the second match of the Test series and became the second Indian player to do so. He completed his hat-trick by dismissing batting batsmen like Salman Batt, Younis Khan and Mohammad Yusuf.
