 RCB continued with Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli as their opener  but faile to give a good start to the team as Parthiv Patel got out on 9 runs of 9 balls by Chris Morris and also lost the wicket of AB de Villiers by the end of powerplay and scored 40 runs in 6 overs. Virat played some classic shots and scored runs at one end and by the 11 th over Stoinis departed by Axar Patel. Than a small partnership between Virat and Moen Ali of 37 runs where 32 runs scored by Moen Ali of 18 balls with 1 four and 3 sixes and was departed by Sandeep Lamichhane. Rabada in the 18th over of the departed Virat on 41 runs (1 four, 2 sixes) of 33 balls and picked 2 more wicket in the same over which helped the team DC to restrict RCB on 149-8 in 20 overs.

     The start for Delhi was not so  good as Dhawan got out in the first ball played by him bowled by Tim Southee and Shreyas Iyer was also dropped by Parthiv Patel in the first over of the inning. Than a partnership between Prithvi Shaw and Shreyas Iyer helped to get the momentum where they scored 68 runs and Prithvi was sent back on 28 runs (5 fours) of 22 balls by Negi. Colin Ingram was promoted in the batting order but couldn't score more than 22 runs (2 fours, 1 six) and got out by Moeen Ali. Shreyas Iyer completed his fifty and scored 67 runs (8 fours, 2 sixes) of 50 balls and departs by Navdeep Saini. Once again Pant disappointed as he couldn't finish off and departed by Siraj. at the end DC won the match by 4 wickets as they scored 152-6 in 18.5 overs.

Kagiso Rabada got the Player of the match award for his superb bowling performance in 20th Match of VIVO IPL Season 12, RCB vs DC in Bengaluru.
