 KKR started the innings with Chris Lynn and Subhman Gill which didn't work for the team as Varun Aaron departed Chris Lynn on a duck and Subhman Gill on 14 runs (2 fours) of 14 balls, which restricted KKR on 31-2 in 6 overs. Nitish Rana struggled a bit to score runs on the pitch and ultimately departed on 21 runs (3 fours) of 26 balls by Shreyas Gopal. Dinesh Kartik was on the crease and the team was in big trouble as wickets continued to fall at one end whereas on the other end Dinesh Kartik played his game and scored quick runs and got his first fifty of the season. He single handed helped the team to set a total of 175-6 in 20 overs with his brilliant mind blowing 97* runs (7 fours, 9 sixes) of 58 balls. It was a good score but steal KKR just short of 15 runs as other batsman contributed much.

A great bowling effort shown by Varun Aaron who picked 2 important wickets conceding only 20 runs in four overs with a maiden over, Usane Thomas, Shreyas Gopal and Unadkat got 1 wicket each.

 Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson gave a good start to the team by scoring 55 runs in the powerplay but also lost the wicket of Rahane who scored 34 runs (5 fours, 1 six) of 21 balls and was departed in the 6th over by Narine. In the next over Piyush Chawla picked the wicket of Sanju Samson on 22 runs (2 sixes) of 15 balls. Rajasthan started to lose wickets at quick succession and the team RR was in big trouble but Ryan Parag batted brilliantly and took the score close to the score close to the target and was departed after scoring 47 runs (5 fours, 2 sixes) of 31 balls. And the rest of the work was done by Jofra Archer who scored unbeaten 27 runs (2 fours, 2 sixes) of 12 balls and Rajasthan won the match by 3 wickets as they scored 176-7 in 19.2 overs.

Piyush Chawla picked 3 wickets in 4 overs and conceded only 20 runs, Sunil Narine got 2 wickets whereas Prasiddh Krishna and Russell got 1 wicket each.
