 RCB got a good start by Parthiv Patel but also lost the big wicket of Virat Kohli who scored 11 runs of 8 balls and was departed by M Shami. Parthiv showed his brilliant form and scored 70 runs in the powerplay along with AB de Villiers but just after the powerplay Parthiv Patel got out by M Ashwin after scoring 43 runs (7 fours, 2 six) of 24 balls. After Parthiv RCB lost 2 more quick wickets of Akshdeep Nath and Moen Ali. Than a partnership between de Villiers and Stoinis and scored 121 runs in 11 overs and in between de Villiers completed his half century in 35 balls andStoinis just rotated thr strike and played the runner ball. But the job was not yet done de Villiers continued to fire all around the ground and scored 82 runs (3 fours, 7 sixes) of 44 balls, Stoinis at end played some huge shots and scored 46 runs(2 fours, 3 sixes) of 34 balls which helped the team to score 202-4 in 20 overs.

The bowlers bowled well but couldn't stop Mr 360 to fire whereM Ashwin, R Ashwin, M Shami and Viljoen got 1 wicket each.

 Chris Gayle and KL Rahul started the very aggressively but Chris Gayle got out after scoring 23 runs(4 fours, 1 six) of 10 balls by Umesh Yadav as a result of which KXIP scored 68-1 in the powerplay. KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal batted brilliantly and scored 69 runs for the 2nd wicket but both of them got out in consecutive overs where Mayank got out on 35 runs (5 fourf, 1 six) of 21 balls by Stoinis and KL Rahul departed on 42 runs (7 fours, 1 six) of 27 balls by Moen Ali. Than a partnership between David Miller and Nicholas Pooran of 68 runs took the score close to the target but in the 18th over Navdeep Saini bowled the match changing over where picked wicket of both Miller and Nicholas Pooran in the over where Miller departed on 24 runs (2 fours) of 25 balls and Pooran scored 46 runs (1 four, 5 sixes) of 28 balls as a result of which RCB won the match by 17 runs as Punjab scored 185-7 in 20 overs.

Umesh Yadav picked 3 wickets and Navdeep Saini got 2 wickets, Stoinis and Moen Ali got 1 wicket each.
