 DC lost its first wicket of Prithvi Shaw after a good start in the 4th over of the inning where Prithvi was departed by Umesh Yadav on 18 runs (4 fours) of 10 balls. Then a partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer took the score to 59-1 in 6 overs and scored 68 runs for the 2nd wicket and in between Sikhar Dhawan completed his half-century but was got out on 50 runs (5 fours, 2 sixes) of 37 balls. After Shikhar DC also lost the wicket of Rishab Pant on 7 runs (1 four) of 7 balls. But Shreyas Iyer looked good and continued his good form by another half-century and after scoring 52 runs (2 fours, 3 sixes) of 37 balls were sent back to the pavilion by W Sundar. Colin Ingram was also departed I'm the next over by  Navdeep Saini on 11 runs  (1 four, 1 six) of 7 balls. In the end, Sherfane Rutherford's 28 runs (1 four, 3 sixes) of 13 balls and Axar Patel's 16 runs (3 fours) of 9 balls helped the team to set a huge total of 187-5 in 20 overs.

Chahal was too expensive in the match as he conceded 41 runs in 4 overs but also picked 2 important wickets whereas W Sundar, Navdeep Saini, and Umesh got 1 wicket each.

 Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli gave a started as needed by team RCB and scored 64 runs in the powerplay but also lost the wicket of Parthiv Patel who scored 39 runs (7 fours, 1 six) of 20 balls and was departed by Rabada in the 6th over. Virat Kohli once again got to a spinner Axar Patel on 23 runs 2 four, 1 six) 17 balls. The bowlers bowled brilliantly and took wickets at regular intervals, AB de couldn't score more than 17 runs (1six) of 20 balls and was departed by Rutherford. But then the partnership between Stoinis and Gurkeerat Singh Maan kept the match alive for the RCB. But the spell of Rabada in the death over shut all the door for the RCB and also the 19 over which was bowled by Ishant Sharma where he conceded only 5 runs and also picked the wicket of Gurkeerat who scored 27 runs (2 fours, 1 six) of 19 balls as result of which RCB lost the match by 16 runs despite Stoinis's 32 runs (1 four, 2 sixes) of 24 balls as RCB scored 171-7 in 20 overs which helped DC to qualify for the playoffs after a long time since 2012.

Another exceptional performance by Rabada, Amit Mishra leads the team to victory by picking 2 wickets each and Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel and Rutherford got 1 wicket each.
