Former captain of the Indian cricket team Mohammad Azharuddin on Monday spoke of some decisions made under his captaincy that changed the career of Indian cricket and a great player forever.
Azhar told Facebook Live for a sports website on Monday that the boldest decision of his career was to send Sachin Tendulkar (Sachin Tendulkar) to start the innings. When Azhar was asked the story behind it, he said, 'Actually, Sachin is playing very well.
He did not come to me initially to talk about opening but then I realized that since he is an aggressive batsman, so batting at number four or five and scoring 30-40 runs, this position is not good for him. Then Navjot Singh Sidhu got injured in a match and I talked to team manager Ajit Wadekar and finally he agreed that Sachin should start the innings.

The start of the innings in One Day International changed the career of Sachin forever. In his 463 ODI international matches long career, Sachin scored 49 centuries. Of these, 45 centuries were scored by starting the innings.
When Azhar was asked how Sachin reacted to the decision to start the innings, Azhar said that he (Sachin) was very happy and said that he always wanted to start the innings.
