Manchester: England have scored 37 runs for 2 wickets in their second innings till the end of the game on the fourth day of the second Test cricket match here on Sunday against the West Indies. England's total lead has now been 219 runs. Ben Stokes was playing 16 and captain Joe Root was on 8 at stumps. The West Indies were all out for 287 after the hosts declared their first innings at 469 for 9 wickets.





Earlier, Stuart Broad and Chris Woakes took 3–3 wickets with the new ball, bowling out West Indies for 287 in the first innings to give England a 182-run lead here on the fourth day of the second Test cricket match. The West Indies, however, managed to save the follow-on earlier. For him, Craig Brathwaite (75), Shamar Brooks (68) and Roston Chase (51) scored half-centuries.

England had made clear their intentions by sending Jos Buttler and Stokes to open the innings and that they wanted to call the West Indies to bat as soon as possible after gaining a good lead. In the first session, he was able to dismiss only Joseph, whose spinner was caught by one hand by Ollie Pope at short leg off Base.

Sam Curran took his second wicket at the start of the second season by catching Hope behind the wicket on an off cutter. Brathwaite was leading his innings well but he lost his wicket due to the concentration of Stokes on the ball. West Indies won the first Test in Southampton by 4 wickets and kept a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
