IPL 2020 schedule till Diwali

The 13th season of the Indian Premier League ie IPL now has a possible schedule, but for this schedule also the postponement of the ICC T20 World Cup is necessary. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) wants the IPL 2020 to be held from 26 September (Saturday) to 8 November (Sunday). In this way, the BCCI wants 60 matches to end in 44 days with more afternoon matches.

BCCI may be happy with this new schedule, but somewhere the IPL broadcaster Star India and the franchise seem to disagree a bit with this schedule. According to an English newspaper, because of the advertisements, Star India wants the IPL to end in the week of Diwali, because at that time a large number of companies issue advertisements. Diwali is on 14 November and Saturday is on that day.

The new BCCI schedule is also being opposed because the afternoon matches will have less visibility and ratings will come down. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India wants to conclude the IPL in time for the Indian team's tour of Australia. An official has said that the sooner the IPL ends, the sooner the Indian team will be able to leave for the Australian tour, which will begin on December 3.

", So that the first Test can start at the scheduled time (from 3 December). In addition, the Indian team wants to play a day-night warm-up match before the proposed day-night test, which is part of the schedule."
