Expectations are high on the Indian Premier League event. The new directive issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on Saturday raised hopes of holding the tournament. Following the directive issued after Lockdown 4.0, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is seeing a new ray of hope which makes it possible for IPL 2020 to be held.





Instructions were issued on Saturday after Lockdown 4.0 was over. Accordingly, orders have been given to start all things slowly in three phases. In the third phase, sports activities are also said to be started.

The directive issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs said, "According to the assessment of the situation (third phase), a decision will be taken to re-start things including air travel for abroad, gym, swimming pool, social/political / sports/entertainment programs. And more people can gather. "





The second phase is planned to resume things which is July and the third phase can be started any time after that. BCCI treasurer Arun Dhumal said, "This is a positive initiative if foreign travel starts again and sports activities are allowed then we can plan for the future."

The BCCI has said, "We are not in a position to start the IPL by the end of the monsoon but it can be done by the end of September." Nevertheless, the fate of the IPL depends on the schedule of the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia, which is to be held in October-November. The decision on postponing or organizing it will be taken by the ICC on 10 June. ICC's next board meeting is to be held on this date.
