Akash Chopra said that despite consistently performing well at number four in ODIs, he was dropped from the team. He said that Rahane is perfect for the kind of batsman that Team India needs for number four. Explaining the reason for this, Akash said that he bats in the traditional way, which is exactly according to Team India's ODI approach.

He said that he himself is also surprised as to why this happened to him even when he was batting well at this position.

Akash said that Rahane's figures on the number four position have also been good. When you are doing well by playing in this order and your strike rate is also around 83, then why should you not get opportunities.
