Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) President G.K. Mahantesh and his visually impaired and physically challenged team have fought a battle against the coronavirus that has helped thousands of disabled, deprived, and children of frontline warriors across the country.
GK Mahantesh, who is also the founder-chairman of the Samapuram Trust for the Blind, has been instrumental in implementing various relief measures. This includes providing more than 2,50,000 food packets for disabled and daily wage workers, over 22,000 PPE and health kits and over 16,000 dry ration kits for the disabled.

GK Mahantesh said on Monday, “Life has always been difficult for the physically challenged and disabled members of our country. But the pandemic has made them even more helpless and they are also unable to provide bread for two days. "
He added, "For this we have tied up with various corporates so that not only can they get our services at their doorstep, but they can also make a cash transfer of Rs. 25 lakh directly."
Mahantesh said that the members of the support body, many of whom suffer from various physical disabilities, are moving to the Red Zones and Containment Zone to help themselves and vulnerable brothers and sisters, regardless of their own lives.

Supportam has also joined hands with government hospitals and other organizations to provide basic and essential medical facilities to the poor, elderly, doctors, healthcare workers and frontline warriors. Apart from all this, they have also provided dry ration kits, PPE, healthcare kits, meal packets, ICU beds, soap dispensers, ply masks and even tabs and other virtual education tools.
