Harbhajan Singh has withdrawn name from the Khel Ratna nomination

A match by Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh has created controversy in the Sports Department of Punjab. Bhajji had sent a mail to the sports director of the department, DPS Kharbanda, asking him to withdraw his nomination from the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award. The Director of the Department has asked the Government of India to do so, citing his mail. Now a dispute has arisen in the department about why the director did not ask the minister and secretary of the department before doing so.

On the other hand, Harbhajan Singh gave his clarification in a tweet on Saturday that he did not fit for the prestigious Khel Ratna Award nomination this year. He told me that he had asked the Punjab government to do the same, as he is away from the game for the last four years, so it does not fit the criteria of its eligibility.

Harbhajan tweeted, 'I am getting so many calls why the Punjab government has withdrawn my name from the Khel Ratna nomination. The truth is that I am not eligible for the Khel Ratna. The international performance of the last three years is mainly seen. In this regard, Principal Secretary of the department Hussan Lal said that the Punjab government has not withdrawn his name, but Harbhajan Singh himself had said to do so.

Harbhajan has also made it clear. When asked why his name was sent for the Khel Ratan Award when he was not meeting the criteria. On this, he said that it is okay that the record of the last three years for Khel Ratna is seen, but we have seen his complete record. He is an eminent player of our state.

He has illuminated the name globally, that is why we sent a proposal for his name, which was also agreed by the Minister. Now the question has arisen whether the consent of Minister Rana Gurmeet Singh Sodhi was taken to withdraw his name. An attempt was made to talk to DPS Kharbanda, but he could not be contacted.

Reliable sources have revealed that no consent has been obtained from the minister in this regard. The nomination was sent late last year, it is worth mentioning that Harbhajan Singh's name was also sent last year, but he was sent late due to the mistake of the government, due to which his name was not considered. He has also said this in his tweet.
