Chennai's senior advocate AP Suryaprakasham has filed a petition in the Madras High Court seeking a ban on online gambling, and arrest and prosecution of those who are involved in its operation. Apart from this, legal action should also be taken against those celebrities who advertise it. The petition states that gambling is a legal offense. Due to this, the suicide incidents of youth in Tamil Nadu has increased, because of economic loss due to Gambling.

The case can be heard on 4 or 5 August. In the petition, this type of gambling has been compared to the Blue Whale Challenge, due to which many youth had lost their lives, in the application, this gambling has been described as a threat to society. According to the petitioner, "Young has become addicted to this type of online gambling game, because many people are given cash bonuses through this game."





The petition also said that, 'Cricket and film giants are used to promote this game like Team India captain Virat Kohli and actress Tamannaah Bhatia, these people brainwash the youth. The youth start playing it for the time pass, but then they get addicted to it. For this, the youth take loans at high interest rates when they reach a situation where they suffer heavy losses and they are unable to repay the loan, then they kill themselves. '

According to the application, 'This gambling addiction is very dangerous for the society and is a violation of Article 21 of the Indian Constitution, as it snatches the right to live life, hence this petition has been filed to ban the game. ' A 19-year-old student committed suicide in Chennai recently, the suicide note mentions online gambling, the petitioner says that the administration is aware of these things, but no action has been taken to ban the game.





When petitioner Suryaprakasham was asked whether online gambling is not a private will? In response to this, Suryaprakasham told WION that losses in online gambling happen quickly, whereas cigarettes and alcohol cause damage to any person in 15 years. The youth get influenced by the promotion of celebrity. The youth waste their family's hard-earned money and pocket money, and then take loans. In recent times these incidents have increased because most of the youth are unemployed and sitting idle.

Recently, the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court has said that the Central and State Governments can make a law regarding this so that online rummy and other online card games involving money can be banned in the entire country. The Telangana government had brought an ordinance that amended the Gaming Act of 1974. Under this, no person from the state of Telangana can play a game of cash transactions.
