 KL Rahul and Chris Gayle gave a solid start to the team by scoring 60 runs in the powerplay but lost the wicket of KL Rahul in the 7th over of the inning as he was departed by Chahal on 18 runs (2 fours, a six)  of 15 balls. Chahal picked another wicket of Mayank Agarwal in his spell. Chris Gayle at one end played a sensible inning after the powerplay while the spinner were into the attack and lost wickets at regular intervals which slowed down the inning but Chris Gayle played a tremendously and completed his another half century in the season and took the team single handedly to the total of 173-4 in 20 overs with his unbeaten 99 runs of 64 balls with 10 fours and 5 sixes.

Chahal was the most successful bowler for RCB who picked 2 wickets conceding 33 runs in his 4 overs, Siraj and Men Ali got one wicket each.

 Virat started the chase and gave the team a huge start even after losing the wicket of Parthiv Patel on 19 runs (4 fours) of 9 balls and Scored 63 runs in the powerplay along with Ab de Villiers. Virat was looking for his first win in the season and tried to bat till the end and built a partnership of 85 runs for the 2nd wicket  but after completing his half century he unfortunately got out after scoring 67 of 53 balls with 8 fours. After Virat AB de completed his fifty and helped the team to achieve the first win in the season with his 59 runs (5 fours, 2 sixes) and Stoinis scored 28 runs of 16 balls with 4 fours to achieve the target in 19.2 overs and won the match by 8 wickets (172). Ashwin and Shami were able to pick one wicket each.
