The biography of Navdeep Saini and journey from karnal to Indian Cricket is much more inspirational for any cricketer but at a same time was much more difficult to go through it and debute in T20I with 2 wickets in his very first over but unfortunately missed the 3rd one which would be the icing on the cake. Although it was a dream debute for any youngster like him who have the potential to represent India as much as possible.

Biography of Navdeep Saini:


Navdeep Saini is a 26 years old Right-arm fast bowler who just debuted in India's T20I side in the match against West Indies. He was born on 23 Nov 1992 in a place called Karnal in Haryana. He comes from an economically weak family. His father was a driver employed with the government of Haryana. His grandfather Karam Singh was an independence activist and a part of Subhas Chandra Bose's Indian National Army.

 Till six years ago, Saini had never played leather ball cricket. Back then, he used to play tennis-ball cricket in local tournaments in Haryana, getting paid Rs 200 per appearance. Once upon a time he didn't have money to join any academy and was unable to even purchase a pair of spikes on his own. It was the Karnal Premier League conducted by former Ranji player Sumit Narwal where he impressed everyone with his bowling abilities. Sumit Narwal was the one who saw the potential in Navdeep Saini and took him to show the Delhi Ranji setup where he met Gautam Gambhir.

 His raw pace – he is known for crossing 150 kph on the speedometer – impressed many and he was called up to the nets sessions of the Delhi Ranji team. And Saini impressed everyone with his 15 mins of bowling in the nets against the Delhi Ranji team. Eventually, Gautam Gambhir who was the Captain of the Delhi Ranji team recognized what potential he had. It was here that Saini caught the eye of Gautam Gambhir. It was Gambhir who arranged a pair of boots for Saini and asked him to be a regular at the Delhi nets. Soon, Gambhir was also arguing with the selectors for Saini to be picked in the Delhi team. Madanlal and Bisen Singh Bedi who were the selectors of Delhi opposed the selection of Saini saying he was an outsider and so he can't be selected for Delhi.
Gautam was aware of his potentials and so he argued until Saini was picked for Delhi and the thus Saini's Cricketing Career starts.

In the 2013/14 season, Saini finally made his first-class debut. Since then, there has been no looking back.

Saini made his Twenty20 debut on 2 January 2016 in the 2015–16 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

In February 2017, he was bought by the Delhi Daredevils team for the Indian Premier League Season 10 for 10 lakhs.

He was the leading wicket-taker for Delhi in the 2017–18 Ranji Trophy, with  34 dismissals in eight matches. He was also the leading wicket-taker for Delhi in the 2018–19 Vijay Hazare Trophy, with sixteen dismissals in eight matches. In January 2018, he was bought by the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2018 IPL auction for 3 crores. In IPL 2019, he continued playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In October 2018, he was named in India C's squad for the 2018–19 Deodhar Trophy.

In June 2018, he was added to India's Test squad for their one-off match against Afghanistan as a replacement for Mohammed Shami, but he did not play. In April 2019, he was named as a standby bowler for the 2019 Cricket World Cup.

In July 2019, he was named in India's  ODIs and T20I squads for their series against the West Indies. And finally, He made his T20I debut against the West Indies on 3 August 2019. He took 3 wickets from his four overs, which included the wickets of Nicholas Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer in two consecutive deliveries and also bowled a wicket-maiden 20th over which included the wicket of Kieron Pollard. And so He was awarded the man of the match trophy in the first T20I match against West Indies.
