Australia head coach Justin Langer said on Thursday that reducing the number of support staff under the country's cricket board's spending cuts would not have a bad effect on the players. Graeme Hick, a longtime Australian batting coach, was removed from Langer's coaching staff list on Wednesday.

Hick is among the 40 people the CA evacuated due to the financial crisis caused by the Covid-19 epidemic. Langer said that no one can criticize me that I am not ready to work. Certainly we have less staff but despite this, players will get full support.

Langer said that telling Hick about his removal was like facing Kurtley Ambrose and Courtney Walsh without a helmet. He said that he is a brilliant person and there is no doubt about it. You can't meet an honest person more than Graeme Hick. His loyalty to work is incredible, his knowledge of the game is unbelievable, so it was certainly a difficult decision.
