India's most successful captain MS Dhoni was born on 7 July 1981 in Ranchi. After a lot of struggle, he made a place in Team India and then became the most successful captain of India and registered his name in history. Every player starts his career from somewhere and Dhoni played his first professional match in his career for Bihar Under 19 team through the Cooch Behar Trophy in the year 1998-99. This was his first professional debut match in the Gentleman game cricket which he played against the Bengal Under 19 team.

Before playing in the Cooch Behar Trophy, he played only for the school cricket team or club cricket teams. Deval Sahay, former Central Coalfields Limited director and former vice-president of Bihar Cricket Association, used his introduction to place Dhoni in the Bihar U19 team. In the very first match against Bengal, Dhoni got the wicketkeeping opportunity as the first team of the Bihar team came in and the team captain was Sumit Panda. The 17-year-old Dhoni had caught just one catch in this innings and the Bengal team declared their innings for 266 runs.





The match between Bihar and Bengal was played at Jamshedpur and the initial three wickets of Bihar fell quickly. The number four batsman of Bihar team A Hashmi had scored an innings of 55 runs and followed by Dhoni, who came in at number six, scored 33 runs from 66 balls. Number five batsman Aditya Upadhyay was dismissed for a duck. In this match, Bihar had scored 142 runs for 8 wickets. In this match, only Dhoni was the only batsman who hit a mere six.

In this match, Dhoni scored an innings of 84 runs, but on his innings, Yuvraj Singh turned the innings by scoring 358 runs.
