Wellington, PTI. A big change is expected in the New Zealand cricket team. There has been news for a long time that Captain Kane Williamson may be removed from his post. New Zealand coach Gary Stead on Monday dismissed speculation that he attempted to remove Kane Williamson from Test captaincy.

He said that there is no truth in these speculations and that his relationship with the captain is strong. After the 0–3 defeat to New Zealand at the hands of Australia earlier this year, such speculation was revealed that Steed had taken over for the Test captaincy. Williamson is preferred over left-handed batsman Tom Latham.

When asked about the relationship with Williamson, Stead said, 'I think they are quite good. I think these are strong. I like him as a player. He is a man who works on principles and he brings a lot to the team. Stead, however, admitted that he and Williamson had a different perspective.

He said, 'I think there has been a difference of opinion with each member of the team at different times. The reason for this, however, is that I am a human being and that too a human being.
