Stuart Broad came into the limelight when he was dropped from the first Test match against the West Indies and was replaced by Jofra Archer in the team. The exclusion of Broad from the playing XI was opposed by many former English cricketers, with some saying that they could not be considered missed. In the second Test, he got a chance to replace Jofra Archer and he performed well, but in the first innings of the third Test match, he played the fastest half-century of his Test career while playing fast for his team.

Stuart Broad scored the fastest half-century of Test cricket
Broad scored a quickfire 62 off 45 balls in the first innings of the third Test match against the Caribbean team and hit 9 fours and a six in his innings. In his innings, he completed his half-century off just 33 balls. This was Broad's fastest half-century innings in a Test cricket career. Earlier, he scored a half-century in 41 balls against South Africa in 2008. Now he broke his record.

Stuart Broad jointly came in third in terms of scoring the fastest half-century in Test cricket for England. He did this against the West Indies off 33 balls and matched Ellen Lamb and Andrew Flintoff. Earlier, both of them also scored half-centuries on the same number of balls in the Test for England. On the other hand, the record for the fastest half-century in the Test for the English team is in the name of Ian Botham, who did this against Delhi in 1981-82 against India.
