BCCI President and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly wrote a letter to all the state cricket associations on Wednesday, saying that we are committed to getting the suspended IPL 2020 held and if needed it can also be held in the empty stadium.
This T20 league has been postponed indefinitely due to Kovid-19. Ganguly informed his letter to the state associations about the activities of the board from IPL to the resumption of the domestic session. Ganguly wrote in the letter, "I think cricket will soon start slowly and it seems like it will take a few months to resume training and competitive cricket in India."

The 13th season of IPL was scheduled to begin on 29 March 2020. However it was postponed indefinitely. BCCI is working on all possible options so that we can organize IPL this year. If we had to organize it in an empty stadium, then we will have it organized.
Fans, franchisees, players, broadcasters, sponsors, and all other stakeholders are eager to host IPL. Many players from India and other countries participating in IPL have also shown their eagerness to be part of IPL this year. We are optimistic and the BCCI will take a decision on its future schedule soon.
He has written in the letter that by the time Kovid-19 started spreading its legs in India, the domestic cricket season (2019-20) was nearing completion. Fortunately most of our domestic cricket of the last season was completed. We are in the process of planning domestic competitions for the next cricket season. We are working on various options to ensure that various domestic tournaments can be held. The board will also provide more information on this issue soon.

The BCCI is also working on a Kovid-19 Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for all state cricket. This SOP is being prepared with guidelines and will help all state associations to resume cricket in their territories. I would like to assure all our members that BCCI officials are constantly monitoring the epidemic situation and all efforts are being made to ensure that cricket can be started as soon as possible.
