If sources are to be believed, this action has been taken in the suspicion of sending the email of the CAG officer to the media to officially attend the meeting of the apex council on July 17. A source associated with the BCCI said that the jeweler's resignation was not accepted at that time, but his news came in the newspapers before a tender came out. He was also accused during the Meetu movement. Apart from this, there were many things due to which current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly and Secretary Jai Shah thought it right to accept his resignation.

Rahul Bauhari's tenure as BCCI has been mired in controversy. Last year he was accused of exploitation by a woman. Then the matter had become very big, because at that time women of the whole world had started the campaign of Meetu. However, a committee was formed by Vinod Rai, then the head of the Committee of Administrators, in which the jeweler survived.
