Former captain of the Indian team Sourav Ganguly's term as BCCI President ended on Sunday 26 July. Following his cooling-off period rule, his 6-year term in the Indian cricket administration has ended. According to the BCCI constitution, now they have to take a break of 3 years to return to the Indian cricket administration. Only then can he take administrative responsibility in any state cricket association or BCCI. Famous Sourav Ganguly's term in world cricket by the name of Dada does not mean that he will be relieved of his post. Actually, the BCCI has asked the Supreme Court to amend the cooling-off rule and this appeal is to be heard on 17 August. In such a situation, it is believed that the board officials will continue in their posts till the court order. Not only Sourav Ganguly, but also Board Secretary Jai Shah will continue to take charge as his term expires in May, while Joint Secretary Jayesh George's term ends in August.





Although the officers themselves are disqualified as per the BCCI rules, but this is not the case with Sourav Ganguly. Ganguly was to end his tenure as BCCI president on 26 July, as he held the post of secretary in the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) on 27 July 2014, while the following year the president of the Bengal state body in September and the BCCI president in October 2019 Were made. However, as of now, the BCCI has not officially confirmed how long and why these officers have remained in their posts.
