London: Former England captain Clare Connor is set to become the first woman president in the 233-year history of the Melbourne Cricket Club (MCC) to replace Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara.

Sangakkara himself announced the nomination of Conor, the managing director of women's cricket in the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB), at the annual meeting of the General Assembly on Wednesday, which was done through video conference.
